IVCA RR 10 Results – Sunday 5th September 2021 the Hatchet-Dorey’s Forge-Mullagh circuit.

Another good tough day out today.
Good weather conditions continued.

Thanks to our marshals for keeping everyone safe.
Thanks to Brendan Culleton for the photos and the Photo Finish.
Numbers were down so we merged the Blacks and Oranges into 1 race with the Oranges starting with a 6 minute handicap.
Well done to the Women’s Masters competitors on a tough circuit.
We will continue to support Women’s Masters racing in 2022

Gay Farnan Memorial Tour – Sunday September 26th

The IVCA Leisure League are delighted to announce the Gay Farnan Memorial Tour on Sunday September 26th from the Grasshopper Pub car park in Clonee Co. Meath at 10.00am sharp.

 Gay was a founding member of the leisure league and worked tirelessly for the league during his time as Leisure League coordinator, until his untimely death in 2017. He is greatly missed by all in the IVCA.

 There will be two routes available on the day – a 75km Route & a 42km route ( Maps will be added here soon) . Both routes will be marshalled by an IVCA  Leisure League rider. There will be a tea stop for both routes.

Parking will be available in the Grasshopper Pub car park and in the LIDL in Clonee.

 ALL participants are required to register for the event using the below link to the Cycling Ireland (CI) website. For those participants that have a CI licence participation in the event is free. For those riders who do not have a CI licence they will be required to purchase a one day leisure licence when they register. This will cost €10.00 and will cover them for insurance on the day.

Saturday 10 Mile TT 4th Sept – Cancelled

Hi All

Due to a clash in the calendar and also to the fact that alot of our regular Saturday TT riders are riding the Track Champs this Saturday we are cancelling this Saturdays TT ( 4th September ) which was due to be held on the Beehive course.

IVCA Track Championship Saturday 4th September – Details

Hi all

This year’s IVCA Track Championship will be replaced by an Omnium
style event which will have both timer events and bunch races. We
would hope to have at least two groups split by ability or age
depending on entry level.
The format may include 2k pursuit, F200, Scratch Race and Points Race and Mile.


We would ask those interested in riding to register their intention by
signing into the session by Thursday 2nd Sept at the latest and we can decide
the format from there.


The event will run on Saturday 4th September from 0930 to 1400 with open track from 0830. Bike
Hire available and Track Accreditation required

Two small crash incidents on the day, thankfully the riders involved are OK.

Advance Notice of Annual General Meeting 2021

The Annual General Meeting of the Irish Veteran Cyclists Association Company Limited by Guarantee will take place this year on:
Sunday 19th September 2021 at the Beehive Pub, Coolbeg Crossroads, Rathnew, Co. Wicklow, commencing at 12.00pm

 The AGM will focus on the statutory affairs of the company, and will be followed by a separate, informal meeting, to allow members to discuss sporting activities (i.e. racing, time trials, touring) and other operational matters of the IVCA.

 The following members are presenting themselves for election to the Board of Directors of the company for the next 12 months:

The election of each of these nominees will be voted on separately.
Ger Madden is retiring from the Board this year. 

Resolutions in relation to company matters, and proposals for discussion in relation to sporting activities, should be sent by email only to:

Any member wishing to be nominated as a Director should also forward their expression of interest to that email address by 5pm on Friday 27th August 2021.
In particular, this year we are seeking nominations from anyone who would be interested in volunteering for the position of Director with special responsibility as Race Director, who would also be a Director of the Company. 
When forwarding resolutions, we would ask members to make every effort to appear in person at the AGM to provide the rationale behind any such resolution. We would also ask that resolutions submitted provide an assessment of what financial and personnel resources may be required, and that the proposers indicate to what extent they would be available to volunteer their assistance with regard to the proposal, e.g. serving on the Board.
 
Documentation for the AGM will be circulated to members by email only, three weeks in advance of the meeting. See attached file for provisional agenda.
