LEISURE

About the Dick O’Brien Leisure League in the IVCA:

The Dick O’Brien Leisure League has been in existence as long as the IVCA itself.  It runs monthly tours for members in the Leinster area, mainly Dublin, Kildare and Meath, including participation in the prestigious Wicklow 200 challenge. Tours take place between January and October inclusive. Please see our Touring calendar for more details.

Each tour takes place on the second Sunday of the month and is on average 75-80km in length, with some exceptions, and includes a coffee/tea stop. The groups are friendly and the pace is leisurely ( average 22km-26km p/hr).

Participants need to be members of the IVCA, but can participate in our tours as guests, provided they have an up to date Cycling Ireland licence. Points are awarded to IVCA members who take part in these events and prizes are awarded at the end of the season. Having participated in a couple of our tours we would encourage any new participants to join the IVCA as Leisure League members.

The criteria for membership of the IVCA is that males need to be at least 40 years of age and females 35 years of age at time of joining.
