IVCA Covid 19 Update: Road Racing & Wicklow 200 [Update 21st May 2020]
As a consequence of the national Covid-19 situation, and further to recent information being made available from Cycling Ireland, the Board of Directors of the IVCA hope to resume Road Racing in Phase 5 of the re-opening, after August 10th. The Race Committee intend planning a late Summer/Autumn league from around the 16th August to 25th October, dependent on CI and HSE advice, and on the National phases of re-opening proceeding to the current plan/envisaged timescale.
This of course is liable to change depending on Public Health advice available at the time from the Government / HSE.
We will keep everyone informed with updates on the website as the situation progresses, so we would ask members to check the website regularly. Please be aware that in the case of Road Racing and TT events, there will most likely be an impact on the marshalling matrix, so please keep an eye on the IVCA website for changes to your marshalling slots that may occur.
Please also note that with regard to the Wicklow 200, due to the ongoing impact and restrictions around Covid-19 the event will not go ahead this year, and is being re-scheduled for 2021.
We would be grateful if you could share this information with your fellow members, and would ask all members to check the HSE website regularly for updates on the national recommendations with regard to public health measures.
