2018 Annual Awards Ceremony and Dinner

The annual Awards Ceremony and Dinner of the IVCA will take place at:

The Springfield Hotel, Leixlip, on Sunday 4th November, commencing at 2.30pm

This is a great end-of-season social event and provides an opportunity to catch up with fellow members to discuss the year just gone.

And, yes, there will be prizes to award, too, to the many winners across racing, touring and track events in 2018.

We hope to see as many people as possible in attendance – all members and partners are welcome.  The cost of the 3-course meal is €25, payable at the door.

The event is being subsidised by the IVCA and we are trying to gauge interest, so if you’re interested in coming could you please fill out the (very simple) form below:

Fergus Cracks it

There was a good turn out for the IVCA Hill Climb on Sunday, 23 September, which saw riders tackle a new event hill outside Rathcoole.  In spite of a maximum gradient of 17% one third of the way up, the new course was well received by all of the riders.

Fastest on the day was Fergus Craddock (pictured) who completed the 2.2 km course in 5 mins 57 secs.  Second place went to Fearghal Regan, with a time of 6 mins 6 secs, while just one second back in third place was David Vavasour on 6 mins 7 secs.

Best on Handicap time was Brian Kane, with Phil Ormrod second and Brendan Byrne third.  It was great to see many of our newer members turning out for the event for the first time and establishing a handicap time for next year.  The full results are below – they show how tight it was for some of the placings.

Many thanks to all of the marshals, time-keepers and our pusher-off-er.

IVCA Hill Climb Sun 23rd September – Rathcoole

Hi all ,

The Final IVCA  event for 2018, Hill Climb takes place this Sunday 23rd September.  Due to the volume of traffic using the Long Hill in Kilmacanogue, we have changed the venue for the event this year.  The new climb will be Cromwellstown Hill, outside Rathcoole.  Sign-on and refreshments afterwards will be at the nearby Beech Park Golf Club.  You can find the locations by clicking HERE .

A great day for IVCA Time Triallists.

Six of us entered the event but unfortunately only five made it down there, a middle of the night plumbing malfunction, our heating system, not me personally, ended my plans.

Hearty congratulations due to all.

Neil Delahaye,  Champion, Gold Medal, M40.

Ian Cassidy, Bronze medal, M40.

Joe Sheehy, Bronze Medal, M50

Ken O’Neil and Ian O’Hara 16th and 21st respectively in M40.
