Sat TT_07. Hattons 28 km Circuit TT.

Well I think we all agreed that this is a tough circuit course but also a good test.
I set the age standards to be pro rata 10/25 standards. As it happens the course is half of 16 plus 40 km. I’ve given everyone two points since it was a first time use and your time is now your handicap for next time. Scratch time for future new riders will be 0:35:00. I think it’s a worth while inclusion in the calendar. Opinions welcome to TTComm.
Remember we are at Johnstown next Saturday the 9th.

Changes to the Time Trial program – Please take note.

Sat TT_08 on 9th July ( listed as Hatchet Inn ) will be relocated to our new course at Johnstown Bridge where we have now arranged HQ facilities at the Hamlet Court Hotel. Coming in from Enfield, turn left at the Hotel, the car park is at the back of the Hotel on your right. Sign on at HQ. It about 2km from the HQ to the start.

TTL-08, Al Fresco Shield, 25 TT, ( listed as Black Bull )on Tuesday 19th July will be relocated to Moy Valley where the Mother Hubbard’s HQ is proving to be a great venue. First man off 1915. Remember to keep to left of car park, it may be busier than we’ve seen in the mornings.

The calendar on the web will be updated accordingly. ( Next Task ).

IVCA 25 TT Championship, Moy Valley.

Not cold, not too windy, very wet:-)
19 riders and ten marshals / timekeepers turned out for the 25 TT Champs this morning. The benefit of a proper HQ showed up very well with about half of us retiring into Mother Hubbards’ for a hearty breakfast after the event.
The Championship went to Hugh by a margin of just three seconds over Ian with the third place going to Pat Byrne. I believe the result proves the efficacy of the new age standards with elite standard rides at age 41 and 69 rightly being so close. We had an even closer call on the Handicap result. Deanne was the only rider beat handicap . Ian lowered his PB and the IVCA Age 42 record to 53:50 also mopping up the age 41 and 40 records. This being only his second 25 he was riding off scratch so not up there in the handicap result.. Patsy took the age 82 record off Kevin and of course Kevin set a new age 84 record. I was happy that my leg injury survived without any aggravation so lots to be happy about. Unfortunately no photographer today.

IVCA 25 TT, Kelly Cup, Moy Valley, 21062016.

Overcast and cool and somewhat windy for a midsummer nights TT.
Only fourteen starters being shown the way by Ian again. A 53:59 kinda nice for his first IVCA 25 TT. Just two riders beating handicap, Colm Cassidy narrowly beating Sean Darragh for the Kelly Cup win.
Not a good night on the marshalling front with only five showing up on a course which needs fourteen. The defaulters will need to show up on Sunday 26/06 for the 25 TT championship to make good their status.

IVCA 10 TT, Behive Inn course, Wicklow. 18062016.

Well we got the desired change in weather. Fine sunny morning and very little breeze. Only problem was a lack of riders 🙂 Just eight, including one guest turned up. Ian showed us that the course is not a great problem for the super fast being just a minute off his best. Thanks to Harry and Ger for the timing and to Linus, Ian and Dave ( and misha ) for marshalling. Phil.

IVCA Skin Suits 2016.

Hi there fellow TTers.

I would hope to have enough feed back by the end of next week to get an order away to Pissei at least for skin suit requirements I am aware of half a dozen requirements but need to ask anyone who will want one ( or more ) to let me know as soon as possible.

The attached pic shows off the actual cut and aeroability of the design, I personally am delighted with it.

Please help me out here and give me some feedback,

Phil.

IVCA clothing 2016.

Hi All. I’m working with Craig on a new issue of IVCA kit for 2016. As before there will be Standard and Racing Masters versions available. We need to get an idea of how many would be interested in purchasing to see if we can meet the minimum quantities required for ordering. It would be a great help if interested members would drop me a line, with no obligation at this stage, so that I know if I’m wasting my time or not. Link below to pics of the kit. Prices to follow shortly.

Cheers,
Phil.

Sat TT_05. Rathcoffey 23 km.

Well, we had a fine bright morning. May have been a small field but we had the Big Guns firing alright. Just seven seconds between Neil and Ian. Hard luck to Pat Byrne and Eve McCrystal both of whom had mechanicals. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a result which had the same placings for Age Standard and Actual Time for all finishers. No handicap result, this being the first time we’ve ridden this course so we’ll use todays result as handicaps for the next one here. Everyone seemed to like the course, it’s no drag strip but a sporting challenge and I think worth keeping on the program. The shift of the start certainly made for a much improved start / finish from a safety perspective.
A 14 day break from TT ing now, the next one being at the Beehive course wicklow on the 18th. Hoping for a calm day this time!!
